PDX Lunch & Learn: Creating a Culture of Organizational Accountability

Creating a culture of organizational accountability is a significant challenge. Ironically, an August 2018, Gallup survey reported that US employee engagement had reached an 18-year high of 34%. In the same article, 13% of employees were “actively” disengaged and 53% of employees were not engaged.
And this was considered good.
If this is good – then good is certainly the enemy of great.
Engagement is defined as “actionable workplace elements with proven linkages to performance outcomes.” Cascade Strategy Strategic commonly sees a 70% failure in Strategic Plans PRIOR to showing clear alignment and accountability to the purpose and vision of an organization. However, with clear Focus Areas, Strategic Objectives and Goals tied to the Bigger Picture – that engagement can double.
