The first ever Pacific Northwest Startup Weekend Food edition is happening in Eugene. The weekend is for people with passion for the food and beverage business and ecosystem development who have ideas on how to grow, change and expand what’s possible.
Startup Weekend Food in Eugene will be a 54 hour experiential program where participants pitch a new food business idea, form a team, and create a startup in a weekend. We’ll bring together like-minded individuals with diverse skills, passion, and dedication to help make local startup ideas a reality. Only about a quarter of businesses formed at Startup Weekend continue after the event, so it’s not just for entrepreneurs. It can be a great way to build innovation skills within your organization.
Business ideas explored at Startup Weekend Food in Eugene may or may not have a high tech component to them. Some may simply be brands or new products. Our current list of suggested themes includes:
We’re looking for passionate foodies, students, entrepreneurs, developers, chefs, designers, and everyone in between, who want to learn how to innovate new systems and products related to food. Come learn the basics of founding and launching a successful startup while solving real problems we face in our food system.
During the weekend, participants build a minimum viable product/prototype (using their own definition for what this entails), validate ideas with potential customers, receive mentorship from some of the most experienced entrepreneurs and industry professionals, and win prizes. Our team of volunteers will provide the space, meals, caffeine, and connections to local resources to keep everyone going throughout the weekend.
Tickets available soon.
